Iconia designed the American multi-channel video retailer Shop HQ’s newest offices and broadcast studios in Minneapolis, USA. The project encompassed the remodel of both existing buildings, in three phases, over the course of three years
Within the first phase, the current layout is optimized by reorganizing and refreshing the design. The second phase includes the total re-layout of the two buildings; offices and meeting rooms are re-organized and designed, a new lobby is created, common areas are designed, complete with think-zones as well as a new restaurant and bar, an auditorium and a training center. Finally, the third phase takes care of the exterior of the building, as well as outdoor landscaping, signage and lightning.
Among standout spaces is the studio’s main hall lobby, with its imposing curved wood paneled atrium. Shop HQ’s iconic yellow is brought to life by a large yellow staircase which leads up to various meeting rooms. Another note-worthy space is the executive area’s think zone. A variety of seating options offer an ideal brainstorming, work and meeting space, enhanced by vegetal elements.
